ROLE: ASSISTANT PRODUCER/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

I secured a role as an intern for the CNN documentary unit where I operated as producers assistant.
This documentary was for the most part finished by time I showed up the first day. My first assignment was to watch it and leave feedback as well as leave my thoughts on the predicament of getting the intro to match the rest of the doc. On my first day I would stay a little longer than my normal hours and then went back to my apartment to leave an extensive list of notes that none of the producers had expected. The next day the senior producer heading the documentary reached out to me about my notes and got me more involved/gave me more deliverables for the doc.
This doc is especially dear to me as for the first time my belief of medias ability to have an effect on society had tangible returns. Post release the doc trended on social media and caused conversations all over Texas and the rest of the United States about reforming laws around political campaign contributions. The doc went so far as to being discussed in the Texas Democrat Party Committee meetings!
